Employee Of The Year

| 2011 Christopher |
Christopher has been working at the Norton Center in Menands for twelve years. In that time he has proven to be a capable, productive worker. He pitches himself into his work with energy, and enthusiasm. He is always optimistic, cheerful, and never complains. His supervisors have come to rely on him and his energy. He works three days weekly and attends Potpourri two days weekly. He always asks others how they are doing, how was their weekend, and generally spreads cheer around. Chris enjoys working, visiting his mom on the weekend, and looks forward each year to the county fairs. His selection by his co-workers as Employee of the Year is well-deserved recognition. |

| 2010 Tim |
Tim has been with the Workshop since 1998. Tim is a “can do” guy who always works hard to accomplish his work assignments. During his 12 years of service, he has not allowed his visual impairment to deter him from getting in the way of completing his tasks. Recently Tim has worked on the "bubble wrap" assignment completing 200+ pieces per day. The visual impairment does not seem to play a role in Tim's personal life altogether due to his will for independence and the will of those around him to provide the best possible care. Staff and co-workers stop and talk to Tim and he loves to stop and talk to him. |
2009 Millie |
Millie has been an employee at NCP for nine years. She has the skills and flexibility to work on many different manufacturing lines making her a true asset and role model for fellow co-workers. Also a talented artist, Millie has donated some of her artwork to the building in our Menands location. |
2008 Eugene |
Eugene has been working at the Workshop since 1996. He is known for being a very hard worker, for getting along with everyone, and for always trying his best to do his job. |
2007 Mark |
Mark has been working at the Workshop since 1995. He has proven to be a capable, dedicated employee who loves his job so much he needs to be reminded to take a vacation once in a while!! He has learned how to do just about every job available in the workshop. He has many friends here at Northeast and that loud roar you hear coming from Menands every January 8th is his co-workers clapping and cheering when his birthday is announced. He has made tremendous progress in his personal and vocational goals and we are all happy to have him among us. |
2006 Phillip |
Philip has made vast improvements in his goals of remaining alert and on-task. He has worked hard to increase his productivity and enjoys being helpful to his supervisors and co-workers. |
2005 Leila |
Leila has been a member of the NCP program for many years. Through the ups and downs of life and work, Leila has maintained a positive disposition on a daily basis. Leila possesses a clever sense of humor that brightens the day of those around her. She can be found singing along with her supervisor to her favorite Doo-Wop hits or grooving to a James Brown track while performing her duties in the cafeteria. Leila is a model employee as she is consistently on time and performs her job quickly and efficiently. |
2004 Laura Jean |
Laura Jean is a survivor who radiates positive energy and determination. She is a model employee who enjoys a great rapport with her coworkers and friends. |
2003 Hazel |
Hazel has been involved with NCP since 1975. Hazel takes an active interest in her peers, most notably through participation in the Employee Concerns Committee where she has served one term as Treasurer and two as President. |
2002 Marcella |
Marcella has been involved with NCP for three years. She demonstrates great motivation, initiative and perseverance at any job she undertakes and is a valued member of any work team. She enjoys helping others by assisting in teaching sign language classes. |
2001 Anthony |
Anthony has been a workshop employee for seven years. He is a capable, diligent worker and a valued member of the production team. Because he cares about his co-workers, Tony represents them at monthly Employee Concerns Committee meetings. |
2000 Ann |
Ann is a model employee who works in the NYS Education Department Print Plant. She has been affiliated with NCP for over 30 years. Ann is a highly motivated individual who never backs down from a challenge. She is also a successful advocate for individuals in sheltered employment. |
1999 Robert |
Robert has been working in NCP's Cafeteria in Menands since 1974. He is a very highly motivated worker and always accomplishes the goals he sets. |
