Staff Highlight – October 2016October 4, 2016
Ashlei (and her welcoming smile!) have been with the PROS Team since she began as an MSW Intern through SUNY Albany in May of 2013. Arriving as an Advanced Standing student, Ashlei had already completed a challenging internship at Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless while completing her BSW, also at SUNY Albany. She credits this experience as a Case Manager in helping her decide to pursue her MSW.
Ashlei was initially interested in interning in a Substance Use Disorder specific setting, but much to our good fortune was placed at PROS instead. During her PROS Internship, Ashlei was hired per diem in January 2014 to teach PROS classes when needed. This then grew from per diem to part-time to full-time PROS ORS (Employment) Counselor upon completion of her MSW in May 2014.
Ashlei obtained her LMSW in April of 2015 and is currently working towards her “C”. Since October 2015 Ashlei truly has been the welcoming face of PROS in her new role as Intake Specialist. With the advent of Managed Care in PROS this past July, Ashlei also plays a key role in keeping us organized and on track. Ashlei especially enjoys working with participants as they overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
Having relocated to the Capital District from Rockland County to attend SUNY in 2009, Ashlei spends her time outside of PROS exploring the area with Lola, her seven year old Yorkie terrier. She also enjoys dancing and Zumba, as well as traveling and visiting with family and friends.
