Supported education is a community mental health program which utilizes the psychiatric rehabilitation model to assist individuals with choosing, getting and keeping educational goals. Through the use of individual support, the (potential) student will identify his/her educational needs in an effort to formulate a specific school goal. A plan will then be developed focusing on time frames and methods for achieving the goal. The outcome of this process is success and satisfaction in the individual's chosen educational setting.
